New teaser of BBC's Peaky Blinders shows Tom Hardy's return in final series

A new teaser clip shared by BBC confirms Tom Hardy is set to return to the hit drama next year.

It was only last week that fans of the show were given a brief glimpse into series six when a clip was released on social media.

It showed Tommy Shelby holding a bag and walking down a dark alley, dressed in his typical - and now iconic - suit, hat and flat cap.

Now Peaky Blinders have teased more of what's in store in the sixth and final series - which is set to air in early 2022.

The new clip shows a very dark and shadowy scene and lasts for about five seconds, but what we do know is that Tom Hardy is back.

That's right! Jewish gang leader Alfie Solomons, who has had many a run-in with Tommy in the past, is making a return.

In the very short shot, Hardy's character Alfie and Tommy played by Cillian Murphy can be seen walking towards a wooden table to meet in the middle.

Tommy then says: "Alfie I think I may have written your final act."

Fans were delighted to see that 44-year-old actor Tom would be making a comeback to the series.

Beth Jane tweeted: "Best news I've had all year! And probably next year too the way things are going !"

"Every one of their scenes together are freaking awesome" Scott tweeted.

Caroline added: "Ah yes the best character".

Last week, fans went into a frenzy after the initial teaser clip for series six was released, teasing an air date in 2022.

All we know so far is that the new series is set to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer early next year.
