New Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Brad Stevens will join All-Star wing Jayson Tatum and new head coach Ime Udoka in Las Vegas for some of Team USA’s training in Las Vegas according to Masslive’s Brian Robb.
Stepping actively into his new role with the team, Stevens will join a large cadre of executives from around the NBA in so doing while Team USA practices and scrimmages against other national teams ahead of the Tokyo Olympics slated to begin at the end of July. Udoka will get some valuable time working with Tatum in high-stakes play both in Las Vegas and — in fulfillment of his role as an assistant with USA Basketball — Tokyo.
It seems likely Stevens will not travel to the Olympics, with no such reports nor obvious role for the new Celtics executive who still has plenty stateside to sort out for Boston.

Though the Celtics only control their 2021 second-round pick, they could buy or trade their way into the first round, and have a plethora of other concerns to address ahead of the 2021-22 season ranging from front office structure to a number of pending free agents and extension-eligible players.
