THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tamil director Vetrimaran said here on Tuesday that the new wave cinemas in Tamil industry are political weapons for the social upliftment. “Tamil cinema puts forward the principles of Dravidian politics and the new films lend strength to the ideals of Dravidian politics. Social realities and political circumstances provide themes to such movies,’’ said Vetrimaran while speaking at a workshop here organised as part of the IFFK.
Meanwhile, the audience poll for the 26th edition of the IFFK will begin on Thursday. The delegates can vote for their favourite films screened under the international competition category through any of the three methods: SMS, mobile app, and through IFFK website. To vote via SMS, the delegates can use the following format- ‘IFFK MOVIE CODE’ and can be sent to 56070.
