As we head closer to summer, the list of upcoming superhero movies gets even more exciting. In the next few months, we'll see the launch of James Gunn's new DC Universe on the big screen with the highly anticipated Superman as well as the beginning of Marvel Phase 6 as Fantastic Four: The First Steps flies onto our screens. This follows on from some pretty major releases earlier in the year too as Thunderbolts* and Captain America: Brave New World both brought Marvel Phase 5 to a close.
Below, we get into all the major release dates on the way in 2025 and beyond as both DC and Marvel keep growing, alongside smaller superhero releases too. So in order to make sure that you are up to date with every timeline, franchise, and upcoming movie on the big screen right now, read on below. New superhero movies (TBA)
Several upcoming superhero movies have been announced and are in various stages of pre-development. However, there's no guarantee that any of these (bar a few MCU and DC offerings) will make it to the big screen. But they're worth keeping an eye on, nonetheless!
Previous DC projects, such as Gotham City Sirens and Green Lantern Corps, are now dead under the new DC Studios regime. Co-CEO James Gunn announced the slate for DCU's Chapter One: Gods and Monsters in January 2023. Meanwhile, Beyond the Spider-Verse has also been indefinitely delayed and removed from the schedules.
