A new steakhouse is to open in Wirral as it looks to take over a former Bella Italia.
The team behind Flank. a new steakhouse and bar, revealed they would be taking over the site saying they "can't wait to get started".
Back in February the restaurant told people on social media their new location would be in New Brighton, but only now have they said where it will actually be based.
In April they said: "After a few delays with the lease we can finally say that everything is now in place.
"Our opening will be slightly delayed from spring until summer.
"We are excited to share our plans over the next few weeks.
"Thanks for your patience and we can’t wait to welcome you."
And now they have said: "We can now announce that flank. will be located in the old Bella Italia site.
"Work will begin in less than 3 weeks.
"We can't wait to get started!!!"
The New Brighton branch of Bella Italia opened in 2016 - previously it had been an American-style burger restaurant - but last year it was confirmed it would not reopen after lockdown and has been empty since.
Many have welcomed the news of a new business in the area and in the large premises at Marine Point.
One said: "Walked past it yesterday and said to my wife what a shame there was no new business taking over the property and hey presto saw this post this morning!
"Great news for New Brighton and another choice for a meal out!"
Another said: "So happy to hear this and so pleased it’s not another mediocre Italian restaurant, look forward to coming in."
Another commented: "Brilliant, not a chain and not another Italian."
And another added: "That's great news New Brighton needs a decent restaurant."
