New Starbucks progressing near Arnold as signs for coffee outlet arrive

Work is progressing on a new Starbucks coffee outlet set to take on the former site of a Carphone Warehouse store near Nottingham.

Construction workers are on-site as the new outlet nears completion, transforming the former phone outlet which closed last year.

The coffee chain will be based in Mansfield Road, Daybrook, close to Madford Business Park and The Vale pub.

It is the American coffee giant's first outlet in the Nottinghamshire town, rivalling a Costa Coffee in nearby Arnold town centre.

It is unclear at this stage when the chain will officially open its doors, as well as how many jobs will be created.

However, work on the site shows the renovation is pressing forward, with the famous Starbucks signage erected and visible from the roadside.

Confirming the outlet to Nottinghamshire Live, Starbucks said it is looking forward be bringing the outlet to the area.

The company says more information on the outlet will be provided in the future.

A spokesperson said: "We look forward to bringing the Starbucks Experience to customers in Nottinghamshire in the near future and we’ll be in touch once we have more specific plans to share."

Plans for the Starbucks were approved by Gedling Borough Council in September 2020, having been lodged in the July.
