New Starbucks in Brislington still empty seven months after planned launch

A branch of Starbucks which was due to launch in Bristol in March has still not opened.

Signs for the new drive-thru went up at the unit, located off Bath Road between McDonald's and Subway, in February.

A job advert on the Starbucks careers website stated the café was set to open in March.

But it is still lying vacant, seven months after the planned launch.

Bristol Live contacted the chain's press office to ask if there was a revised opening date and the answer was somewhat vague.

A spokesperson replied: "We are always looking for new locations and opportunities to bring the Starbucks Experience to customers in the UK, but we have no specifics to share about plans at Brislington at this time."

When it does eventually open there will also be a seated café area for people who don't want to take their food and drink on the road with them.

It is thought the new branch, which is still surrounded by fencing, will create around 20 jobs.

Bristol Live will bring you the latest on the launch of the drive-thru as and when we hear it.
