New south Liverpool coffee shop with homemade cakes and children's cinema room

There’s nowhere better to spend an Autumn day than in a local coffee shop sipping a hot drink and eating a delicious sweet treat, while reading a book or watching the world go by.

New independent café, The Coffee Vault in Garston is the perfect location for this.

Siblings Joe and Robyn Gunner own the shop and have worked in the industry for the last decade. They run it with the help of their third team member Jack McMorine.

Joe told the ECHO: “We felt that the time was right to combine our passion and creativity to start our own venture of an independent coffee shop, with a welcoming environment for the residents of the friendly community of Garston. Our brother/sister rivalry ended long ago and we are now proud that we can work together as such a good team!

“We are offering a selection of coffees from local roasters Monkey Board Coffee. We have an extensive range of milkshakes and iced drinks, all of which are available as vegan. We also have a variety of hot and cold paninis, sandwiches, and wraps, and a selection of homemade cakes and sweet treats available.”

The Coffee Vault not only sells food and drink, it has a children’s cinema room making it the perfect location for families and friends to get together with their little ones.

Joe continues: “A trip to a coffee shop can often be a dull affair for children. Happy kids equals happy parents! We will have movie showings at 10am and 3.30pm Monday - Saturday, and 11am on Sundays. Kids can enjoy popcorn and a drink for £2 during the showings, and parents can enjoy free refills on their filter coffee because… kids!

“We are amazed with how friendly all of the locals have been over our opening weekend, and how welcoming our neighbouring, independent businesses around St Mary’s Road have been.”

The family-run business also has a variety of events planned, including a children’s Halloween party, and caters for birthday parties and baby showers. The Coffee Vault is also hosting Christine Holt’s ‘Nature’s Trail’ shamanic group.

The Coffee Vault is on 78 St Mary's Road, Garston, L19 2JG.
