New signing Nuno Da Costa sends message to Nottingham Forest fans

Nottingham Forest new boy Nuno Da Costa can’t wait to get going at the City Ground.

Forest swooped to make their second signing of the January transfer window on Wednesday night as they signed Da Costa.

The 28-year-old striker put pen to paper on a permanent contract with the Reds, making the move from French side Strasbourg for an undisclosed fee, reported to be around 2m euros.

With Rafa Mir’s loan spell from Wolverhampton Wanderers cut short, Sabri Lamouchi has actively been looking to bring in back-up and competition for main front man Lewis Grabban.

The Cape Verde international joined Strasbourg from Valenciennes in 2017 and has made 20 appearances this term, scoring two goals.

Da Costa could go straight into the squad for the weekend game against Birmingham City, and he had a message for his new fans.

“Hi Forest friends,” he said on the club’s twitter page.

“Delighted to see you soon, hope to see you here in the City Ground and have some moments with you, playing and getting wins.

“You Reds.”

Da Costa also posted:“New year, New team, new goals - Happy to sign for @NFFC”

Forest have until 11pm on Friday evening to make any further signings, before the window closes.
