New signing Brice Samba's message for Nottingham Forest fans

New signing Brice Samba says he “cannot wait” to get started after putting pen to paper for Nottingham Forest.

The goalkeeper last night made the move to the City Ground from French club Caen for an undisclosed fee, agreeing a four-year deal with the Reds.

Samba is the club’s 10th addition of the summer so far, ahead of today’s transfer deadline – and the ninth since Sabri Lamouchi took charge.

The 25-year-old posted a picture on Instagram of himself wearing the Garibaldi, with the message: “New boy in town. Hello @officialnffc! My English is not very good so I will keep it simple: I can’t wait to get to work with the team & to defend my new colours. Already looking forward to see you guys at the stadium!!”

Samba comes into the squad ahead of Saturday’s trip to Leeds United, though faces a fight to claim the No.1 spot.

Forest brought in shot-stopper Arijanet Muric on loan from Manchester City earlier in the summer, and he started between the posts in the opening day defeat to West Bromwich Albion last weekend.

Costel Pantilimon, Luke Steele and Jordan Smith are also currently on the club’s books, though at least one of the trio is likely to depart as Lamouchi looks to trim numbers.
