'New signing?' - Arsenal fans can't believe Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's new look at training

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and the rest of the Arsenal squad have stepped up training ahead of a potential return to Premier League action next month.

Arsenal's players have been back at London Colney since April 27, but after voting unanimously to initiate phase one of Project Restart, all top flight clubs have started to hold training sessions in small groups.

Adhering to Government protocols, the Gunners must undergo regular testing for COVID-19 and keep a safe, two-metre distance from other players at all times.

When action does potentially return in June, Mikel Arteta's side still have much to play for, with a top four place still not out of the equation.

There is also a FA Cup quarter-final against Sheffield United to negotiate if the authorities can find space to resume the competition.

One man who will be key to whatever Arsenal achieve this season is Aubameyang, and the Gunners captain was pictured at Colney taking part in drills alongside his teammates.

His presence sparked reaction among some supporters on social media, with many quick to point out his understandably longer-than-usual hair.

Many simply took the chance to urge the Arsenal top scorer to sign a new contract, with his deal at the Emirates expiring at the end of next season.

Elsewhere, Arsenal have confirmed that supporters will be entitled to refunds for any match tickets or hospitality purchased before the Premier League's enforced break due to the pandemic.

This comes as a result of the remainder of the 2019/20 season being played behind closed doors, meaning fans would not be able to attend either home or away matches when football resumes.

"As previously stated, supporters will be entitled to a credit or refund for any match tickets or hospitality they have already purchased for future behind-closed doors matches in the 2019/20 season," a statement on Arsenal's official website read.

"Whether as part of a season ticket or for an individual match, supporters will be offered a credit for next season or a refund. This behind-closed doors credit will be in addition to the two unused cup credits already due to general admission season ticket holders.

"The process to credit/refund supporters who have purchased match tickets and or hospitality for these fixtures will begin immediately. Full details and timings will be communicated directly to fans.

"Information regarding season ticket and membership renewals for next season will be updated as soon as we have more clarity on future possible timings of the 2020/21 season."
