It won’t be long until the store that sells discounted food and drink opens in Nottingham.
Nottingham Bazaar Cash & Carry has been seen with its lights on and should be open by mid January.
The store is located on Hucknall Road, Sherwood.
Previously, the store belonged to Plumline Bespoke.
Some residents in Sherwood are happy to see a new store in the area however, some aren’t as the store will be open 24/7 and are concerned about noise levels.
Derrick Richardson, 82, who is retired from Sherwood, explained that he will be going into the new store when it opens, he said: “It’s a good idea this new store, we’ve only got one shop. [Tesco Express] I’ll see what it’s like when it's open, it should have opened years ago, Tesco is the only place I can go for a paper.”
To the store being open, 24/7 Mr Richardson replied: “That’s not bad.”
Paul Venables, retired from Sherwood, got sent a letter about the new Hucknall Road store, he said: “I got sent a letter about the Cash & Carry but it would have been nice to have known about it before it went ahead.
“I’m not happy about it, we have a Tesco about 2 yards away from it, from my garden you can see it [the new warehouse] and I’m concerned about noise.”
Sarah White, 36, a full time mum from Sherwood said: “I’m happy about the new store, I usually have to go to Co-Op in Sherwood Shops or Tesco Express on Hucknall Road which aren’t super stores. There’s an Aldi and Sainsburys near Perry Road but it’s a bit of a trek sometimes as I don’t drive so I can’t wait for it to be open.
"I understand why some people might be concerned about noise but it’s not opened yet, that might not be the case.”
