New shadow cabinet role for MSP

Central Scotland MSP Graham Simpson has been appointed as the Scottish Conservatives’ new shadow transport, infrastructure and connectivity secretary.

The regional list representative was given the portfolio by new party leader Douglas Ross in his reshuffle, and says he is “excited to get stuck in”.

Mr Simpson said: “There’s a lot of mileage in it, and I’m looking forward to calling on the inadequacies of the Scottish Government.

“SNP mismanagement has led to the delay of building of ferries, ScotRail maintenance, R100 broadband and other infrastructure services.

“With Douglas Ross as leader and his shadow cabinet announced, we are ready and willing to tackle this head-on – we will be working hard to put Scots first, and I look forward to making the most of this opportunity.”
