New 'Scouse' YO! Sushi restaurant to open in Liverpool

A new YO! Sushi restaurant is to open in Liverpool next week, with a 'Scouse' twist.

YO! is a smash hit restaurant chain that specialises in sushi restaurants across the globe. Particularly popular in the UK, it's famed for its conveyor belt which displays dishes to diners, who then choose which items they want to tuck into by grabbing them off the belt.

On Monday, December 5, YO! will launch a new restaurant at Speke Retail Park, joining the likes of Pizza Hut, Nando's, Wagamama and more at the prominent shopping and dining destination.

The new restaurant will be home to a first of its kind menu item - 'Scouse' Sushi. The new dish is a twist on the classic chips, rice and curry sauce available at many local chip shops. The 'chippy tea' is a beloved and iconic tradition for many across the country, with YO!'s new menu addition sure to delight diners.

Named the 'half and half' sushi roll, it's coated in Panko crumb and fried until golden, cut in half and topped with YO! fries, and then drizzled with curry sauce and sprinkled with chives. The recipe celebrates the Liverpool pattern of ordering half rice, half chips and curry sauce.

Like its sister venues, the YO! Liverpool Speke restaurant will offer a full menu of sushi and fresh Japanese food to connoisseurs and novices alike. Food lovers will be able to book a table to dine in; click and collect, or have it delivered to their door. Walk-ins will also be permitted.

The new restaurant can be found at Unit L11, New Mersey Shopping Park, Speke, L24 8QB. It opens on December 5 and you can book here.
