A new shop selling Scottish whisky, gin and rum has opened in Bristol.
Isle of Skye Artisan Spirits & Apothecary has opened on Whiteladies Road in the unit previously home to a scooter shop.
It sells bottles ranging in size from 50ml up to 200ml, with prices between £8 for standard options up to £100 for the more premium tipples.
Owner Pino Botta, whose family used to run Italian restaurant Bottelino's in Portishead, wanted to launch the shop after becoming interested in whisky several years ago.
With spirits sourced from sister company West Highland Distillers based in Scotland, Pino's off-licence and tasting room offers customers the chance to sample before they buy to ensure they make the right choice.
"We opened the doors just days before the second lockdown was announced which was a little unfortunate, but thankfully we have been able to continue trading throughout," said the 37-year-old.
"Of course the lockdown has meant the footfall is not what it usually is on Whiteladies Road, but despite that we've still got off to a promising start and have met lots of lovely customers.
"We have a huge range of whiskies, gins and rums on offer including some specialist options and more experimental flavours, such as mushroom-infused gin.
"We're looking forward to the end of lockdown when we'll be able to meet more people and show off our full range."
Isle of Skye will soon start selling wrapped bottle sets which will make the "perfect present for Christmas," added Pino.
