New Scottish Highlands safari lets visitors see wildlife in dark with thermal imaging tech

An outdoor activity company based in the Scottish Highlands has launched a new state-of-the-art guided wildlife tour.

Making use of "the latest thermal imaging technology", visitors will be able to see animals in their natural habitat after dark.

Connell Outdoor Pursuits in the Dornoch area of the Highlands is offering the ‘Thermal Imaging Wildlife Safaris’ to give customers the "rare" opportunity to observe animals such as deer, foxes, badgers, rabbits, pine martens, and hedgehogs under the cover of darkness.

According to the company, up to three people will be able to take part per session. The tours will be held either in the early morning or late at night, depending on the season.

He commented: “Our new Thermal Imaging Wildlife Safaris are a great new way for visitors to observe a range of species up close after dark, including some of our iconic Highland wildlife.”

In addition to the new safaris, Connell Outdoor Pursuits offers personalised Archery & Clay sessions and driven 4x4 scenic tours, as well as custom activity tour packages and local fishing.

The new ‘Thermal Imaging Wildlife Safaris’ are priced at £75 per person aged nine and above. More information can be found on the Connell Outdoor Pursuits website.
