New Saved by the Bell trailer shows what A.C. Slater and Jessie Spano are up to 30 years on

Saved by the Bell is coming back to our screens nearly 30 years after it was last on air.

And a new trailer of the reboot has been released, showing what some of the show's iconic characters are up to now.

A.C. Slater, played by Mario Lopez, is back at Bayside High School but now working as a gym teacher for the next generation.

Jessie Spano (Elizabeth Berkley) is in the show, though it's not clear if she is working at her old school.

Zack Morris (Mark-Paul Gosselaar)is now California Governor and has shut down many of the low-income schools in the area.

In the reboot, pupils from the closed down schools have moved to Bayside, which has wealthier students.

At the start of the trailer, A.C. looks like he hasn't aged a day as he steps out onto the footballer field in a Bayside vest.

He asks Jessie: "Remember how much fun high school used to be?"

"Can you believe that was like 30 years ago?" she tells him.

In other scenes pupils can be seen cheering in their Bayside sports gear and hanging out in the gang's old stomping ground The Max.

And it seems their children have returned to the school.

A.C. is seen giving a talking to Mac Morris, the son of Zack and Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen) and Jesse's son, Jamie Spano.

He tells them: "When I was in high school, I constantly used to fight with my best friend over a hot girl.

"Oh, it was actually your dad, over your mom!

"Then I just found another girl I really liked and started hooking up with her instead.

"Oh wait, that was your mom!"

It's unknown when the new Saved by the Bell will launch but it will stream on NBCUniversal streaming service Peacock.
