Saudi Arabia’s new Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources was sworn in on Tuesday before Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz.
Bandar Alkhorayef was sworn in at a ceremony at the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah.
King Salman had issued a royal decree on Friday to set up a new Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, separating it from the Ministry of Energy.
The new ministry will assume its duties at the beginning of the 2020 fiscal year. Until then, the responsibilities will be handled by the Ministry of Energy, said the decree.
