A new book featuring inside information from more than 120 sources claims to lift the lid on life inside the Royal Family - and it contains several shocking allegations.
The Palace Papers: Inside the House of Windsor, the Truth and the Turmoil by Tina Brown is set to hit the shelves on May 3, and extracts of some of the book’s most explosive claims have been published in The Daily Mail ahead of its release.
The book tells alleged tales of Prince William and Prince Harry's strained relationship with Camilla, a row between Meghan and the Queen's closest aide, and Kate's secret enjoyments away from royal life.

Charles' luxurious loo demands
Brown takes reports of The Prince of Wales enjoying the finer things in life to a new level in her new book, detailing how Charles allegedly sends a van of his possessions to his friends’ country houses when he’s due to stay over.
Said possessions apparently include the Prince’s orthopaedic bed, lavatory seat, and Kleenex Velvet loo paper.
She also claims that Charles even has his own artwork sent over to decorate his guest room to his taste, with a preference for landscapes of the Scottish Highlands.
Meghan's ‘designer swag’ message to publicist
While it’s not unusual for celebrities to use their fame to nab some fancy freebies, Brown claims that Meghan sent out a message to publicists to ensure that she still received gifts from designer brands.
The book alleges that Meghan "won a reputation among the marketers of luxury brands of being warmly interested in receiving bags of designer swag".
Brown adds that after her wedding in 2018, a member of Meghan's new team wrote to a publicist to say: "Make sure [the publicist] knows that she can still send me anything. She’s always been one of the good ones."
‘Lots of raging’ in lead-up to wedding
There have been numerous stories concerning an alleged row over Meghan’s wedding day tiara, with Harry famously reported as saying “what Meghan wants, Meghan gets” after she was refused permission to wear her first choice of headgear.
Brown says that a rumoured row with the Queen’s close friend and trusted aide Angela Kelly began because Meghan didn’t "perceive the difference between the Queen’s personal aide and a contract stylist at NBC Universal".
The author says she was told by an insider that such fallouts were fuelled by Meghan and Harry sharing a mutual addiction to drama.
A source told Brown there was "lots of raging" in the lead up to their 2018 wedding and that Meghan would shout in front of staff.
Harry's 'smoulderin g resentful stares’ towards Camilla
Claims in Brown’s book appear to confirm long-standing reports of the strained relationship between Prince Harry and The Duchess of Cornwall.
The author says that when the two Princes first met Camilla, Harry "unnerved her with long silences and smouldering resentful stares."
She goes on that Prince William remained "guarded", whereas his brother was "outright sullen".
Brown claims that Harry "resents" Camilla, and found it particularly difficult when she changed his old bedroom at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire into her dressing room.
Charles is ‘wrong sort of person’ for Queen
A source reportedly told Brown that Charles is the “wrong sort of person” for Her Majesty, who considers him too needy, emotional and vulnerable.
The source is quoted as saying: “Arts, charitable causes that aren’t wrapped in a rigid sense of duty - it’s all anathema to her.”
The insider also claims that Prince Philip also had concerns about his son becoming King, reportedly saying that he didn't think Charles was “King material”.
Harry 'sent back' 30th birthday present from Charles
According to Brown, the relationship between Prince Harry and Prince Charles has been strained for a number of years and communication between the pair mainly goes through their private offices.
The book gives details of an alleged awkward exchange between the father and son over Harry’s 30th birthday present, claiming that Charles asked Harry if he would like another dinner jacket.
Brown said: "So the man from Savile Row came to measure him and when the suit arrived . . . one arm was shorter than the other and one leg shorter than the other, so it was . . . returned in a box, which seemed kind of analogous to their whole relationship."
Kate's secret visits t o ‘nourish her inner life’
The book tells of secret visits to galleries and museums by The Duchess of Cambridge, who gained a 2:1 degree in History of Art from St Andrews University in 2005.
It’s claimed that Kate sneaks into exhibitions to “nourish her inner life” away from the royal spotlight.
She was once spotted sneaking into a Hockney exhibition at the Royal Academy at 8am. She told the man she was sitting next to: "I miss my history of art. It’s what I do to get my fix."
