A Boolaroo World War I Private has been recognised in the naming of a new road that will form part of the Costco development at Cockle Creek.
The Hunter and Central Coast Development Corporation (HCCDC) has commenced work on Cressy Road, which will provide the link to Costco's upcoming and much-anticipated warehouse.
Cressy Road is named in honour of Henry 'Harry' Cressy, who worked as a train driver at the Pasminco smelter before enlisting with his brother Edward in the Australian Imperial Force in 1915. He lost his life at the Battle of Fromelles in 1916 at age 22.

Private Cressy's niece Evelyn Kibble attended the official road naming ceremony this week and members of the Cressy family still live in the area.
Cressy family member Dorothy Coe said that the family was honoured to have the road named after their relative.
"This is a wonderful tribute to commemorate the sacrifice he made for his country," Ms Coe said.
HCCDC CEO Valentina Misevska said that as well as honouring one of Lake Macquarie's many servicemen and women, Cressy Road will create a key component of the transformed Cockle Creek precinct.
"The Lake Macquarie community has been asking for the reuse of this site for a long time, and we're glad to confirm that works are progressing to unlock the commercial, employment and residential potential of Cockle Creek," Ms Misevska said.
Cressy Road is expected to open to traffic in August, with Costco planning to open its doors to customers later in 2021.
