New ride at Legoland Windsor Resort is a dinosaur rollercoaster especially for under-5s

Legoland Windsor Resort has unveiled its new ride for 2020 - and it’s one just for tots.

The DUPLO Dino Coaster is the newest addition to the park set amongst the attraction’s DUPLO Valley, an area catered to visitors aged five and under.

Anyone who has played with DUPLO knows the unique look of its dinosaur building blocks and the new ride brings that to life - albeit 18 times bigger than the sets you have at home.

Given its colourful look and friendly voice (yes, the rollercoaster train does talk), the ride is a good starter for any budding theme park fan.

In motion, the coaster has enough dips and a good speed to give a thrill without being scary.

While the Dino Coaster is the biggest addition to DUPLO Valley, the resort has also revamped a few old favourites.

These include a transformation of the popular outdoor play area, Brickville, which now features a 5.3 metre tall rocket play structure.

There are also additional helicopters at the DUPLO Valley Airport - a favourite ride with many little ones as the ride allows you to fully control the helicopter you’re sitting in and make it go up and down, left and right.

Other attractions include a new show, The Frog Prince, at the puppet theatre, with multiple performances throughout the day, as well as DUPLO mascot Dexter the Dog providing a good photo opportunity for the family.

Outside of DUPLO Valley, the much-loved Atlantis Submarine Voyage ride has been giving a rebrand and is now the LEGO City Deep Sea Adventure.

While the ride still has the immersive illusion of being underwater, it now has a few added extras including sea turtles made from 16,384 bricks, and the Diver - Europe’s first ever talking Minifigure.

Legoland Windsor Resort is currently holding a sale with tickets starting at £29. For more details, visit the website.
