A kilt store in the city centre could be converted into a restaurant after new plans were revealed.
Shell Pensions Trust Ltd has applied to Glasgow City Council to change the use of a St Vincent Street building, which was occupied by Slanj Scotland.
If permission is granted, the Category B-listed site would be able to be used as a food and drink venue.
However, the applicant has stated further details on the future of the building would need to be decided once a tenant has been found.
In a report submitted with the plan, the applicant’s agent Iceni Projects said: “The specifics in relation to the proposed layout and operation at the unit are not currently known and would be determined by the eventual occupier.
“Any further applications for planning permission and/or listed building consent for physical alterations to facilitate the proposal will be made when a tenant has been agreed.

“Overall, this part of St Vincent Street is primarily commercial in nature, with a number of class three and and other non-retail uses within the locale. The loss of this retail unit would not diminish the retail functions of the street or the wider city centre.
“The proposed use would complement the existing businesses at this location, as well as the overall character of the wider city centre.”
Slanj, which also has premises in Edinburgh, recently moved its Glasgow operation to Bath Street.
