New restaurant and bar to overlook Royal Troon as iconic hotel set for relaunch

A stunning new Ayrshire restaurant and bar has launched as part of a major refurbishment of an iconic hotel — set to open next week.

The Rabbit and its sister bar, The Seal, have opened within the landmark Marine Hotel in Troon which relaunches on June 1 with a plush new look.

The 78-cover eaterie will overlook the iconic Royal Troon Golf Course which will host the 2024 Open Championship.

The swanky new venues have been named after two holes at the historic course, with The Rabbit being the 17 th and The Seal the 1st.

The new eatery will celebrate local fayre, with seasonal produce sourced from Troon and along the Ayrshire coast.

Guests will be able to enjoy an afternoon tea experience overlooking the idyllic coastline and views of the Isle of Arran, with Sunday Roasts also being offered each week.

Menus have been produced by Rusacks St Andrews' executive chef, Derek Johnstone.

Bosses at the hotel say they have created a “laid-back” setting for guests, with the plush bar and dinning space offering nods to the site's golf heritage.

Executive chef Johnstone said: “We are so excited to be launching The Rabbit restaurant and The Seal bar in Troon this summer.

“Troon is a stunning coastal town with plenty of amazing Scottish produce on its doorstep. The menus feature really hearty and comforting dishes expertly created by our talented team.

“There are a range of options to suit all palates from light bites to larger plates, all to be enjoyed in casual surroundings with family and friends around the table.”

The Rabbit will be open daily for lunch and dinner, with The Seal bar providing a relaxed option for all day dining, cocktails and light bites.

Across the lobby, The Seal will serve up Royal Troon-inspired cocktails using Ayrshire gin and whisky, with Hendricks sourced direct from Girvan and single malt whisky being sailed over from the Isle of Arran.
