New Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard is a talent that can't be found easily, says Belgium boss Roberto Martinez

New Real Madrid winger Eden Hazard has been praised by his Belgium national team coach Roberto Martinez for his rare talent and leadership qualities which "can't be found easily".

Hazard completed a big-money move from Chelsea to Real Madrid late on Friday evening in a deal worth up to £130m.

The Belgian star won numerous trophies during his seven-year spell at Stamford Bridge, and also helped his national side reach the semi-finals of the 2018 World Cup.

Belgium take on Kazakhstan in a Euro 2020 qualifier on Saturday evening and, ahead of the match and indeed his move to Real Madrid, Martinez was quick to lavish praise on Hazard.

"Eden [Hazard] is a team player who is committed to what the team needs," Martinez said. "He is a talent that can't be found easily.

"The most surprising thing about Eden is his degree of influence in each game, as he is a very consistent person who doesn't depend on ups and downs and he isn't emotional.

"He has so much influence in the group and he lives by and for football, as he was born in a football family where his father and mother were players, and the three brothers enjoy the sport.

"Unfortunately, the modern player has other influences, another way of understanding football."I think the beauty of Eden is to see an old-fashioned player with such a modern talent."
