Millie Bobby Brown Hinted At David Harbour Drama In Resurfaced 2024 Interview: ‘Awkward’

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour

Over the weekend, a bombshell report revealed Millie Bobby Brown had previously lodged a “bullying and harassment” complaint about Stranger Things co-star David Harbour. Now, additional details have emerged following the complaint, including resurfaced interviews and extremely telling social media activity.

An insider who spoke to the Daily Mail claimed Brown lodged “pages and pages” of accusations against the actor, which prompted an internal investigation into the matter that “went on for months”.

The exact details of Harbour’s alleged behaviour and the outcome of the investigation haven’t been revealed yet, but it’s understood the claims don’t relate to any kind of sexual misconduct.

Netflix reportedly refused to comment on the reports of the internal enquiry, which the source said “speaks volumes”.

Here’s what we now know.

Millie Bobby Brown hints at David Harbour tension in resurfaced interview

Millie Bobby Brown’s March 2024 interview has suddenly reappeared online after reports she accused Stranger Things co-star David Harbour of harassment and bullying.

In the resurfaced chat, which punters online have described as nothing short of “awkward”, the then-bride-to-be spoke about her wedding to Jake Bongiovi — but fans are zeroing in on her reaction when Harbour got a mention.

During the chat, the journo joked that her big day should be Stranger Things-themed — complete with her walking down the aisle to the show’s eerie soundtrack.

Millie played along, tossing around ideas like a shaved head and a black-and-red colour palette. But when the interviewer quipped that “Harbour is officiating,” she squinted before muttering a very reluctant, “Yes”.

Millie quickly backtracked with an awkward laugh, saying, “I don’t know how I feel about that. Sure.”

She then threw out Matthew Modine as a better option — and, funnily enough, the Stranger Things actor did end up officiating her and Jake Bongiovi’s May 2024 wedding.

Modine, of course, plays Dr. Martin Brenner — Eleven’s not-so-loving father figure who ran all those grim experiments.

A Netflix source on the allegations

An insider from Netflix has spoken out about the investigation and expressed their concerns about the report going public.

“It will be a theatrical event,” a Netflix source shared about the investigation. “Nothing is going to overshadow this, not even the leading man’s private life.”

“Netflix will never comment on an internal investigation, but the fact they’ve not denied it speaks volumes. Stranger Things helped put Netflix on the map. Millions of fans around the world have been anticipating the finale. No one wants anything to take attention away from that.”

Millie’s recent quotes about David

A quote that Millie Bobby Brown allegedly made about her Stranger Things co-star David Harbour is doing the rounds online.

ICYMI, the cast chatted with Empire last month, and a screenshot of Millie’s supposed quote from the October 2025 issue has started circulating.

In the mag, she reportedly said: “David [Harbour, who plays Hopper] and I connected on another level. He always looked out for me, and I always annoyed him like a daughter or a younger sister. I was always trying to climb all over him and he was always rolling his eyes and laughing at me.”

According to the initial report, Millie allegedly raised concerns before filming for season five kicked off in January 2024, with production wrapping later that year in December.

David’s recent quotes about his Stranger Things co-stars

In a November 2025 interview, David was asked, “Have you ever given your younger castmates advice about dealing with the industry and the world?” He didn’t name Millie specifically, but his answer seemed to include her.

He responded to Esquire, “They’re all pretty good kids. Maybe it’s just because I’m sober, I’m sure everyone’s doing them, but it just feels like kids are not as substance-abusive as my generation was. But I think there were other pitfalls that I was really worried about. One of the real ropes to hang on to in this business for me has been the artistry of what you’re doing. There are things that are just so beyond your control – whether or not you get box office, or whether or not people like you. All of these things are way beyond your control. But one of the things that you can control is your particular passion for storytelling, for art, for what you want to say, your voice. How you see the world.

“I think the problem with young fame is that it’s very exciting, you know? It’s very exciting to have people think you’re a genius, but you don’t really want to be a genius at 11 years old. Any sort of protégé… I mean, look at what happened to Mozart or whatever. It’s not a long life. I would love to see Gaten [Matarazzo] play King Lear when he’s 70 years old, I would like to see those kinds of careers out of them. And that’s my own selfish desire for them to explore their artistry and their instruments to the fullest of their potential. I do think it’s the sanest way to approach this business. I would get very worried for them, but as any parent knows, it’s hopeless and nothing works. You just offer what you can and then watch, and you’re just there for them if they need you. That’s where I discovered my place for them. I’m always here to help them out, but they’re on their own path. It’s a wild path, but they all seem to be doing great.”

Stranger Things press tour in jeapoardy

With the cast currently heavily on the promo trail for the final season of Stranger Things, punters are predicting that David Harbour may need to sit out cast interviews, including the red carpet where he would need to pose alongside Millie Bobby Brown.

Millie still follows Lily Allen

Social media punters have clocked that in the wake of David Harbour’s takedown by fellow Brit Lily Allen, Millie still follows the singer, and not her co-star, which is very telling.

Insider says it’s all gravy now

In the wake of the viral news, an insider has told Entertainment Tonight that there’s no bad blood between the onscreen father-daughter duo.

“They have a close friendship and have been through a lot together,” the source insists.

The timing couldn’t be worse for Harbour given Stranger Things season five will soon be released in three parts, with the first batch of episodes landing on November 26 followed by three episodes on Christmas Day and the finale on New Year’s Eve.
