New Quality Street flavour added to Christmas tubs - and it sounds delicious

It may seem like the kids have only just gone back to school, but Christmas is drawing ever closer and will be here before we know it.

Finding the time and money to present shop might be daunting, but at least the return of the festive season means the return of delicious treats.

And one chocolatey favourite is back and better than ever.

Nestle's tubs of Quality Street are sporting a new look and a new flavoured sweet for 2019, MirrorOnline reports.

Fans of the chocolates will now get to enjoy a new limited edition Chocolate Caramel Brownie in tubs brought from major supermarket chains like Tesco,  Asda and Iceland.

But that isn't the only change to Quality Street chocolates this year, following feedback Nestle has changed the ratio of sweets you get inside its tubs.

Nestlé says it has taken on board feedback about the ratio of chocolates and toffees. (Quality Street)

The confectioners have noted that fans prefer chocolate sweets over toffee versions, and as a result Nestle has upped the amount of chocolate sweets from 35% to 46%.

Speaking about the changes Ellie Worley, Senior Brand Manager for Quality Street said: “2019 is a huge year for Quality Street. We’ve got a new sweet, a new design and we are developing the brand in all areas ahead of the Christmas season.”

“I know just how much people love Quality Street and we work really hard to find that balance between keeping things fresh but also familiar. We’ve been listening and I think we’ve got the perfect mix this year and made the changes that people have told us they’d like to see.”

New look packaging also accompanies the changes inside the sweets we all know and love.

Rainbow graphics feature on the classic purple hued tins that are now available at major supermarkets like Asda, Iceland and Sainsbury's.

A special 800g gold tin is also exclusively available from Tesco and massive 2kg tins are now being stocked by Costco.
