New pub-restaurant The Loveable Rogue to open in Glasgow's West End

Restaurateurs Joe Lazzerini and Amalia Colaluca are to open their first venture together when they launch The Loveable Rogue in Glasgow's west end.

The venue on Great Western Road will take over from The Hebridean gastropub, part of Nico Simeone's food empire, which closes at the end of August.

The new bosses say their 60-cover venue will showcase a seasonal menu using quality ingredients and local produce in classic roast beef and Yorkshire puddings, and giving traditional dishes a twist such as lobster mac 'n' cheese and a kiev with curried cauliflower.

Colaluca has previously helped her parents Ralph and Laura run Raffaele's and The Library restaurants in Bearsden.

She said: " For us a good pub offers more than just the drinks available at the bar -  it's the small touches, the little things and the care put into everything that we believe will help us stand out.

"Combining our focus on comfort food and a friendly neighbourhood service - The Loveable Rogue will create a cosy dining environment that is dynamic yet relaxed -  the kind of space Joe and I like to eat in".

The Loveable Rogue, which is due to open in the autumn, will serve a wide selection of wines, beers and spirits. Under Covid-19 restrictions, the venue will open intially with a reduced capacity of 48.
