New PS5 update with Smyths and Very ‘restocking today' - and Amazon expected to drop stock soon

Gamers may have two chances to snap up a PS5 today from Smyths and Very - but they'll need be quick.

One of the biggest PlayStation 5 stock trackers has predicted drops from both retailers between today (April 13) and Thursday, April 15. It comes after stock sold out at Argos stores within a matter of hours.

According to the PS5StockUK Twitter account, the backlog of shipments at most major stores is likely to be caused by the ship that was stuck in Suez Canal earlier this month.

It tweeted: "The #Evergiven ship has caused major disruptions in shipments arriving and getting through customs. At this rate, next week seems unlikely too."

If you're hoping to get a PS5 from Amazon, the online giant is also expected to receive new stock later this month.

PS5 fans have been eager to get their hands on Sony's latest console since it launched in 2020 - but retailers are finding it hard to keep up with demand.

Argos recently had a PS5 restock in a number of stores, but the consoles sold out within a matter of hours.

So those who want to snap up the sought-after PlayStation 5 will need to keep their eyes peeled and plan ahead for the next drop.

Where to buy the new PlayStation 5?

There are two versions of the next generation PlayStation 5 console. The PS5 Digital Edition, which is priced at £349.99, and the PS5 with Ultra HD Blu-ray disc drive, which will set you back £449.99.

Several retailers have been reporting very low stock levels due to high demand, so it's worth keeping an eye on the retailers below if you haven't snapped one up yet.
