New proposals shake up boundaries

A review of electoral divisions in Cardiff was released today. The report from the Local Government Boundary Commission for Wales aims to balance the weight of votes for each democratic area in the city. You can click on this link to read the whole document.

Proposals include:
* The merging of Llanrumney and Rumney to form one electoral ward called Llanrumney
* Combining Pentyrch and Radyr to make one community, Pentyrch
* The amalgamation of Fairwater and St Fagans into Western Cardiff
* Changing the name of Roath ward to Penylan and Plasnewydd to Roath

Responses to the report are due in before 11 May 2010.
