Reach PLC is launching it's very first Pride podcast called 'The Out Crowd'.
The brand new podcast will venture into various topics affecting the LGBT+ community to learn more about what it means to be LGBT+ in 2021.
Speaking to members of the community from a variety of gender identities and sexualities, the discussions will dive into guest's experiences across various different professions. From the discussion of the anti-LGBT legislation Section 28 to trans and non-binary issues, no stone is being left un-turned.
A Laudable production for Reach, the podcast will be available on all major platforms including Apple and Spotify. Laudable is a Google-funded audio project for local news, run in partnership by Reach and JPI Media.
Podcast host and WalesOnline Community Reporter, Joe Ali, hopes the podcast brings more awareness and discussion surrounding the queer community in the UK.
The podcast's first episode will be available on streaming platforms next Wednesday but the trailer is out now:

“More awareness to LGBT+ people and our past is absolutely vital," he said.
"A lot of people still don’t understand what the community has sacrificed and continues to sacrifice to be authentically themselves.
“As an LGBT+ person in the media, it’s nice to have a company that is not just changing logo colours but is actually allowing us to broadcast material.
“I really hope that a young queer person will pick up on this podcast and feel less alone.”
The battle for equality still remains, and 'The Out Crowd' will explore the history of the struggle from the perspective of those who continue to fight it.
The podcast promises to hear from a range of people including drag artists, activists, educators, historians and more as they answer the questions people may be "too shy to ask".

“As a bisexual man, I am looking forward to learning more about members of the queer community that I belong to - as well as providing an insight into modern LGBTQ life for those not accustomed to it," said Daniel J. McLaughlin, producer of the podcast.
“I have wanted to create an LGBTQ podcast ever since I started my work with the Laudable Podcasts team.
“The struggle for equality lasts longer than just one month, and we hope that The Out Crowd will make a fabulous noise in Pride Month and beyond."
