Plans have been submitted that will see Liverpool's famous Mathew Street lit up with iconic Beatles images.
Liverpool Council has received a planning application from the Liverpool BID Company, which aims to install four projectors in Mathew Street. If approved, the projectors will light up the well known street with colourful images linked to The Beatles.
The plans would see four projectors placed along Mathew Street in order to display projections onto the street below. The projections will consist of six bespoke Beatles themed images in a range of colours.

The application comes from the Liverpool BID Company, which is a private, not-for-profit organisation that represents the interests of 1,000 levy paying businesses and works to improve Liverpool City Centre and attract new business and investment.
The application pertains to three specific buildings in and around Mathew Street, where the projectors are due to be installed. These include The Produce Buildings and Fruit Exchange building in Victoria Street and number 8 Temple Court, all of which back onto Mathew Street.
If the council gives the plans the green light, projections will be seen on Mathew Street on Sunday to Thursdays from sunset to 1am and on Fridays and Saturdays from sunset to 4am. The installation of the projectors will be carried out by Liverpool-based company LITE, which have installed lighting displays in the city including at The Royal Liver Building and St Luke's Church.
A planning statement reads: "The site is located in an area which, over hundreds of years of development has become almost entirely bars, clubs and music venues situated in historic warehouses. The area in and around the Cavern Quarter lie within the Castle Street Conservation Area.
"In 2015 Liverpool was designated as an UNESCO City of Music, celebrating its musical heritage, including The Beatles who played 293 times in the now-renowned The Cavern in the 1960s. Both the club and Mathew Street are today internationally renowned as the place where The Beatles were made, making it one of the anchors of the City’s growing tourist economy.
"The proposal is for the installation of four projectors along the buildings elevation to display colourful projections onto Mathew Street below. The appearance of the projections will feature iconic Liverpool scenes and themes and be projected onto Mathew Street."
