The latest phase of regeneration work in Longbridge could see 695 new houses created alongside commercial space capable of creating 1,300 new jobs.
New plans have been lodged by St Modwen with Birmingham City Council to develop 60 acres of land, with work expected to start by late 2022 subject to consent.
The new area will feature workspaces, including creative studios, office buildings and co-working facilities to cater for all types of businesses, together with a mix of new homes for families and young professionals.
This latest application is part of the long-running regeneration of the former MG Rover works in Longbridge by St Modwen, following the car maker's collapse in 2005.
As part of the proposals, heritage buildings connected to the manufacturer on the application site will be restored including the Roundhouse, car assembly building and the Dalmuir Road steps.
New footpaths and cycle routes will also be created to link the scheme with the town centre and surrounding sites like Cofton Park, the Lickey Hills and the River Rea corridor.
This latest application site is bounded by Dalmuir Road, Lickey Road, Lowhill Lane and Groveley Lane.
St Modwen's senior director Rob Flavell said: "These plans represent a vital and exciting part of our vision to regenerate Longbridge.

"Our plans represent more than just new buildings but a thriving new community which will have its own distinctive character while bringing added benefits to the wider redevelopment of Longbridge town centre."
Since regeneration began in Longbridge, St Modwen has delivered 1,450 homes and one million sq ft of commercial space including a new Sainsbury's and the Midlands' largest Marks & Spencer store.
