Three players fitting positions of need landed with the Green Bay Packers in a new mock draft at Pro Football Focus.
Mike Renner, the site’s lead draft analyst, gave the Packers help at wide receiver, defensive line and cornerback in his three-round mock draft posted Wednesday.
The names are familiar, or should be: Baylor receiver Denzel Mims at No. 30 overall, Missouri defensive lineman Jordan Elliott at No. 62 overall and Clemson defensive back K’Von Wallace at No. 94 overall.
Mims, a three-year producer at Baylor and star of the pre-draft process, fits the Packers’ mold at receiver. Elliott was PFF’s top pass-rushing interior lineman by win rate in the draft class. Wallace wore many hats for Clemson’s defense and could have a real future as a versatile slot defender at the next level.
The Packers need more playmakers in the passing game, help along the defensive line and a future in the slot on defense.
Renner’s three-man class doesn’t address offensive tackle or linebacker, two other need positions. The Packers have seven other picks between Rounds 4-7.
