New owners of a popular locals' pub in Bristol have stated it's business as usual following a takeover.
The Lifeboat in Shirehampton was formerly owned by Star Pubs & Bars, the third largest pub group in the UK.
But in September it was revealed that Admiral Taverns, another major firm, was set to acquire 150 sites belonging to the Heineken-owned company, taking its portfolio from 800 to 950.
Of those 150 pubs two are in Bristol, with one being The Lifeboat and the other being the Warwick Arms in Kingswood.
This week Admiral's bosses confirmed the acquisition of the community pubs had been completed.
Since news broke last month the traditional boozer, located on Shirehampton's high street, was set to be taken over, speculation over its future has been rife.
However a spokesperson for Admiral said the pub will remain unchanged, for now at least.
Edwin Pope, Business Development Manager for Admiral Taverns, said: "We are pleased to confirm that it’s business as usual at The Lifeboat.
"We’re excited to be working with the licensees and providing our ongoing support to ensure our community pubs run sustainably."
There is no refurbishment planned for the pub and the licensee from before the takeover has remained in place.
Speaking in September, Chief Executive of Admiral Taverns Chris Jowsey said: "Admiral has a strong track record of integrating new acquisitions and these new pubs will significantly increase our presence across the UK.
"Core to Admiral’s approach is our commitment to invest behind our pubs and licensees, supporting them to build vibrant social hubs that can thrive at the heart of their local communities."
