New Orleans Pelicans release preseason schedule, to play at MSG

The New Orleans Pelicans announced their preseason schedule on Monday with trips to New York and Chicago highlighting their six-game exhibition schedule.

The Pelicans will begin the year on Oct. 7 with a trip to Atlanta before taking to Chicago two nights later. The team’s only home game will come on Oct. 11 before taking to San Antonio on Oct. 13.

The highlight of the preseason will be Oct. 18 in the team’s finale. Zion Williamson and the Pelicans will meet RJ Barrett and the Knicks in Madison Square Garden on Oct. 18.

The trip to New York will offer the Pelicans and Williamson a second trip to Madison Square Garden on the year. Given not only the storylines between Williamson and Barrett but also the hype surrounding Williamson, this game will likely not feel like any other preseason game, particularly with it being the final one of the preseason.

While the entirety of the Pelicans’ regular season schedule has yet to be released, reports on New Orleans playing on both Opening Night and on Christmas Day have already come out.
