New open air cinema coming to Dalkeith Country Park this summer

Dalkeith Country Park will host a new outdoor cinema featuring a number of fan favourite films this summer and they’re encouraging people to come and picnic.

The Dalkeith Open Air Cinema will be running this year from August 12-14 and describe themselves as “a cinema experience like no other.”

It is being organised by Adventure Cinema- The UKs largest touring open air cinema, which operates in more than 70 locations in Britain.

Showing three films, one every day of the cinema, they are encouraging people to come along, bring a picnic and enjoy some films in the summer air.

This year will involve a trio of musicals for people to enjoy. The first day will show the new West Side Story adaptation, the second day will show the feel good classic Mamma Mia and day three will screen the Hugh Jackman feature The Greatest Showman.

The gates for each of the films opens at 8:00pm, with the film actually beginning at 9.30pm, giving people plenty of time to find a good spot, get settled and relax for the showing.

A standard ticket for the show costs £14.50 but people can also purchase a ticket with some popcorn for £20.50.

However, with the popcorn tickets for West Side Story sold out, the Dalkeith Outdoor Cinema really does have limited tickets available so Edinburgh locals are going to have to move quickly if they want to enjoy the outdoor cinema.
