New Only Fools and Horses TV show planned, says star

Fans of Only Fools and Horses might soon be treated to a new show as reports suggest a new production may be in the works. A new TV show based around Only Fools and Horses is being developed, according to a star

The stars of the West End production of Only Fools and Horses: The Musical say they now hope for a televised screening of their run at London’s Theatre Royal earlier this year. Based on the popular BBC sitcom of the same name, the musical follows Del Boy, Rodney, and the rest of the Trotter gang on their newest adventures.

Tom Bennett and Ryan Hutton play Del Boy and Rodney respectively, joined by Ashleigh Gray as Raquel, Nicola Munns as Marlene and Cassandra, Craig Berry as Boycie, Lee VG as Trigger, Adrian Irvine as Denzil, Danny Bayne as Mickey Pearce and Danny Driscoll, and Andrew Bryant as Mike The Barman and Tony Driscoll.

Paul Whitehouse, who played both Grandad and Uncle Albert in the BBC show stage adaptation after taking over the role from Les Dennis, said: “We’d love to do a TV version of the stage show and we think it would work well. Our story involves both Granddad and Uncle Albert, Del Boy meeting Raquel and Rodney and Cassandra getting married so we basically condense the seven television series into two hours and 10 minutes.”

“While we can’t compete with the original show, you do get the whole story of Only Fools And Horses," he added. “It would be lovely to see our version adapted for television.”

He previously said about the stage show:“It’s been an unbelievable four years for the whole cast of the Only Fools musical. We’ve consistently played to packed houses and received standing ovations night after night – the audiences have been incredible."
