The recently launched Dublin City Brewing Company have announced details of a new tasting club – a monthly online event that will allow beer fans to sample the brewery’s tipples along with specially selected food.
Each event will see head brewer Fergal Murray hosting a tasting of three of the company’s beers, joined by a special guest from the food or drink world. The guest will talk with Fergal about how they would pair and enjoy a Dublin City Brewing beer with one of their culinary creations.
The first event takes place on Thursday 25th February, when Fergal will be joined on Zoom by chef Kwanghi Chan of the Bowls by Kwanghi restaurant on Marlborough Street.
Kwanghi grew up surrounded by Asian flavours, and cut his teeth working in his family's Chinese restaurant in Buncrana, Donegal.
At Bowls, he serves up some of Dublin's finest dumplings as well as mouth-watering signature bowls made with everything from barbecued beef briskets and Irish salmon.
He also makes sauces and seasonings with his company Chanchan and on the night, he'll be demonstrating how to best use his black garlic peanut rayu while paired with a Dublin City Brewing beer.
The €20 admission fee includes three 440ml cans of Dublin City Brewing Company beer (Liberator Lager, Renegade Red Ale and Patriot Pale Ale) and a branded glass, along with a jar of Chanchan Black Garlic & Peanut Rayu.
Delivery is free within Dublin – a courier fee applies elsewhere.
