New nursery and business units set to be created in Bridgend community

A planning application submitted to Bridgend Council for the creation of business units and a new nursery in Coity, Bridgend, looks set to be given the go-ahead by council planners this year, it is understood.

It is stated that the nursery on the site, which lies to the south of the Coity Bypass and north of the Brackla Industrial Estate on 1.13 hectares of land, could include large nursery rooms, safe and enclosed external space, a kitchen, stores, and front office and staff room.

It is understood that the final decision on the proposals will not go before the councils planning committee, with authority instead delegated to council planning officers.

Cllr Amanda Williams, who is a local member for Coity Higher, said: "I think this development would be a welcome move for the area and for people in the local community. Hopefully it will bring more jobs here as well as some shops for nearby people who don't drive to be within walking distance of."
