New signing Tiago Silva has a message for Nottingham Forest fans after putting pen to paper.
The Portuguese midfielder has agreed a two-year deal with the Reds, – and the first under new boss Sabri Lamouchi.
Silva will get straight to work, joining up with his new teammates for the final two days of their pre-season training camp in Spain as preparations for the new Championship campaign gather pace.
Another training camp in Greece follows later this month, with games against Atromitos and Olympiacos scheduled.
So the first time the majority of Forest supporters will get to see the 26-year-old in action will be at the club’s first home friendly of the summer, against Crystal Palace on Friday, July 19.
And Silva is looking forward to making his debut at the City Ground.
He sent a message to fans on the Reds’ official Twitter account, saying: “Hi, I’m Tiago Silva. I’m very happy to be here. Can’t wait to see you at the City Ground. Come On You Reds!”
The former Portugal Under-21 international has made the move from Feirense, in his homeland.
Last season, he notched five goals and weighed in with nine assists, and can operate in an orthodox central midfield role or in a more advanced position.
