New Nottingham Forest signing has special 'feeling' as Reds gear up for Leeds United clash

Leeds boost

Leeds United’s marquee signing Jean-Kevin Augustin looks set to be fit for Saturday’s trip to play Nottingham Forest.

There were major fears among Leeds supporters yesterday that Augustin could be set for a spell on the sidelines after featuring for the under-23s.

The striker was left out of the Leeds squad for Saturday’s 1-0 defeat to Wigan Athletic, but made his first appearance on Monday against Sheffield Wednesday’s under-23s.

He was replaced at half-time, just minutes after a crunching tackle in the middle of the park. That left him in a heap on the floor, receiving treatment.

Special feeling

New signing Adama Diakhaby says he “felt something” special when he walked into the Nottingham Forest dressing room.

And that has convinced the Huddersfield Town loanee Sabri Lamouchi’s men can still be in the promotion mix come May.

A seven-match unbeaten run in the Championship came to an end on Saturday as the Reds were beaten 2-1 at Birmingham City.

But they nevertheless sit fourth in the table, just four points off second-placed Leeds United ahead of a meeting between the two teams this weekend.

Fans' favourites to return

The City Ground will be red hot come 5.30pm on Saturday evening.

Nottingham Forest welcome promotion rivals Leeds United to the East Midlands for a crucial Sky Bet Championship clash.

The Reds and Leeds both slipped up in their bids to get to the Premier League at the weekend, Marcelo Bielsa’s men beaten at home to lowly Wigan Athletic, and Forest suffering defeat away against Birmingham City.

They now go head-to-head in a mouth-watering clash on Saturday, shown live on Sky Sports.

TV clash

Nottingham Forest have had another of their Sky Bet Championship clashes selected for live television coverage.

The Reds are battling for promotion to the Premier League, and Sky Sports want to have the chance to broadcast more of the club’s matches.

The latest fixture to be selected for live television coverage is the Reds’ home clash against Huddersfield Town next month.

Sabri Lamouchi’s side welcome the Terriers to the City Ground on Wednesday, March 18, with kick-off scheduled for 7.45pm.
