New Nottingham Forest 2020/21 Macron home kit 'leaked'

Could this be the new Nottingham Forest home strip for the forthcoming 2020/21 Championship season?

At this time of year, aside of transfer and the inevitable managerial speculation, obsession surrounding new kits reigns supreme.

Gone are the days where clubs would alternate their home and away kits on a two-year cycle, now the rush to get them out each season is greater than ever before, with fans lapping up the latest editions.

And Forest are no different, the Reds are expected to launch their new home and away kits for the new campaign shortly, with the September 12 start not too far away.

A year ago, Forest revealed their new strip on June 28, but given the extension to the season owing to the coronavirus campaign, the kit launch, along with other events, have been pushed back.

Albeit unlikely, this is one of the strips doing the rounds on the internet using a former Forest away kit, the famous blue shirt made by Umbro.

Not since their Division One title-winning season of 1997/98 have Forest worn their famous Garibaldi red shirts with any black piping, but this ‘leaked’ design features black on the collar and arms, while in another unlikely twist, the famous Forest logo, Macron badge and sponsor is also in black - which would seem strange, given that no Reds shirt has ever had such a feature.

It remains to be seen whether or not Forest will extend their lucrative sponsorship deal with Football Index, with the 'club-record' initial one-year deal at an end following the culmination of the Championship season in dramatic circumstances on Wednesday night.
