A new council-run YouTube channel is set to throw the online spotlight on communities in North Ayrshire.
'North Ayrshire TV' launched on the social media platform yesterday and will feature video-related community news, events, heritage and culture, outdoor activities and more.
The new channel will supplement North Ayrshire Council’s existing corporate YouTube channel, supporting the local authority's key priority of being ‘an accessible council that puts residents and communities at the heart of what they do’.
Councillor Louise McPhater, cabinet member for participatory democracy, said: “We are delighted to be launching the new council YouTube channel for community news.
“We’ve launched North Ayrshire TV to focus exclusively on bringing to life community-based content and good news stories, offering people of North Ayrshire the opportunity to find out more about what’s happening in their local area and how they can get involved.
“Our aim is to reach as many people as we can throughout North Ayrshire’s six localities.
"So, if you haven’t done so already, I would urge anyone looking to find out more about the great work happening in North Ayrshire to subscribe now and take some time out to enjoy North Ayrshire TV’s exciting mix of fun, educational and informative videos from your local community and beyond.”
