New non-executive director named at 42 Technology in St Ives

A product development and engineering consultancy has appointed a new non-executive director.

As the former business development director at Rolls-Royce, 42 Technology’s new recruit, Dr Chris Floyd, has a wealth of experience in international business development and strategic management.

He will play an important advisory role as the St Ives-based company accelerates into a new phase of growth and development.

“42 Technology is very fortunate to have someone with Chris’s exceptional business acumen, track record of success, and strategic insight join our board,” said Dr Jon Spratley, managing director of 42 Technology.

“He has worked as a client, consultant and on the boards of several companies, and will help bring fresh perspectives and new ideas to our board-level discussions.

“Chris has in-depth knowledge of industrial and fast-moving consumer goods markets too, which will be invaluable as we continue adding more of the world’s leading industrial and consumer brands to our existing client list.”

Dr Floyd spent almost 13 years at Rolls-Royce, where he was responsible for the strategy and development of its non-aerospace businesses, and 11 years with management consultancy Arthur D Little, advising on innovation and growth strategies for technology-based businesses.

He stepped back from corporate life in 2012 and since then has established his own strategic consultancy advising both private and public sector organisations, and has served on the boards of several companies.

In addition to his new role, he is a non-executive director with British Engines Group, a family-owned £200 million turnover engineering components company, and with CompAp AS, a Czech-based electronics controls company.
