New Newcastle bar Market Shaker installs Mike Ashley-themed ashtrays

He is the man that a lot of Geordies have an opinion on and now you can have your say on the Mike Ashley saga in an unexpected fashion.

And that is because Newcastle's newest bar - Market Shaker - has installed ashtrays/cigarette bins inspired by the Magpies' owner.

Market Shaker has its friends and family night on Thursday and will officially open to the public on Friday, August 23, right on cue for Bank Holiday weekend.

And as well, as the huge flamingo themed mural that adorns the wall of its outdoor beer garden, one of the Cloth Market's most eye-catching exterior features is the Ashley In, Ashley Out 'ballot bin' - which section will you flick your tab in once you've finished smoking it?

The Market Shaker is owned by two established names on Newcastle's nightlife scene - Tommy Byron and Rob Clarkson - with the lads' vision completely transforming the former Ember Lounge into a bar, dancehall and garden.

As well as a wealth of beers and ciders on draught, prosecco on tap, gin globes and cocktails, Market Shaker are also serving up delicious pizza from award winning Scream for Pizza, victors of Wylam Brewery's Slice Wars.
