New name allotment shows we are real inheritors of Balasaheb's legacy: Maharashtra CM Ekanth Shinde

MUMBAI: Maharashtra chief minister Eknath Shinde on Tuesday claimed that the allotment Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena for his faction shows that his faction was the real inheritor of Bal Thackeray’s legacy.

Shinde claimed that the allotment of the name Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena was a victory of Balasaheb’s strong hindutva. "Finally the victory of the strong Hindutva views of Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray. We are the inheritors of Balasaheb's thoughts," CM Shinde said in a tweet posted along with his photo with Bal Thackeray.

CM Shinde's faction spokesperson Naresh Mhaske said that their faction was very satisfied with the new name Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena.

"We are moving ahead with Balasaheb Thackeray's name and his principles. We are very happy to get the name Balasahbe’s Shiv Sena. We have got time till Tuesday morning to give alternative symbols. So we will give a list of new symbols. We are truly blessed by Balasaheb Thackeray. Their Shiv Sena left Balasaheb's thought, left the principles. Therefore, Uddhav Thackeray's faction has got the name as per his ideology," Mhaske said.

Shinde faction spokesperson Sheetal Mhatre said that they would eventually get the Sena’s bow and arrow symbol and name.

"We had asked for the name Balasahebanchi Shiv Sena and once again it has been proved that this is not a Shinde faction but it is Balasaheb’s Shiv Sena Balasaheb. Perhaps they did not go to court against what was asked, because it is their habit to go to court against any decision. We will once again submit the symbols as per the instructions of the Election Commission. We are still sure that in the future we will definitely get the symbol of bow and arrow. This is the symbol of Shiv Sena and we are sure that Balasaheb's Shiv Sena will get it and we will try again for it," Mhatre said.
