Lady Gaga fans are about to be off the deep end.
The pop star, 33, announced plans to release a new single Friday, the first new music since she starred in the 2018 “A Star is Born” remake and took home an Academy Award for best original song for “Shallow,” her chart-topping duet with co-star and director Bradley Cooper.
“Stupid Love” is set to release Friday at midnight ET, Gaga tweeted Tuesday along with a photo of a billboard promoting the song.
Gaga ended the tweet with the hashtag “#LG6,” teasing to fans she’s ushering in a new era ahead of a sixth studio album.
Reports emerged last month that a new Lady Gaga song had leaked online. Gaga seemingly addressed the issue at the time, tweeting ”Can y’all stop” with a stock image of a girl listening to music with a ski mask on, a photo used online as a meme to joke about illegally downloading music.

Gaga rose to fame with her freshman studio album “The Fame” in 2008, which featured memorable tracks like “Just Dance,” Paparazzi” and “Poker Face.” She also made headlines for shaking up red carpets in over-the-top looks, like when she was carried into the 2011 Grammy Awards in a huge egg and “hatched” onstage, or when she wore that infamous meat dress to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards.
After four more studio albums, she headlined the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show before going on to play the lead in ”A Star is Born,” a revival of the story first released in 1937 (starring Fredric March and Janet Gaynor) and revamped in 1954 (James Mason and Judy Garland) and 1976 (Kris Kristofferson and Barbra Streisand).
