New mum Kate Lawler shares fears she would never have a baby after low egg count

Kate Lawler has revealed she had fears she would never have a baby after discovering she had a low egg count.

The Big Brother 2002 winner, 40, welcomed her baby daughter Noa with fiancé Martin last month.

Speaking to The Sun, Kate revealed her fears that she would never be a mother.

She said: "As soon as I found out my egg count was really low for my age it did make me fear I wouldn't be able to have kids."

The broadcaster revealed that this caused her to "panic a little" and forced her into action.

Kate was warned that her "geriatric" pregnancy would come with health risks, including preeclampsia, requiring a need for extra scans and checks.

"In the end we were so, so lucky. We pretty much got pregnant right away it kind of came as a surprise," she said.

Thankfully, Kate's pregnancy went ahead more or less without a hitch.

Despite this, the Big Brother legend has no plans for further children in the future.

She added: "I can't see myself having another child. One is enough."

Despite her fiancé Martin being keen on having more children, Kate has a very specific reason why she is less keen.

"The problem is I'm an identical twin and identical twins are more likely to have twins themselves so we could easily end up with three and that's definitely not happening."

Kate's experiences with motherhood are set to be shown in new MTV series Celebrity Bumps: Famous & Pregnant, which was announced last month and is now airing on MTV.

Returning to reality television after Big Brother was something that Kate was keen on, as she found it "exciting" and is keen on doing more.

Kate has been open about her medical fears with baby Noa in recent weeks.

She had to make her third hospital visit with her daughter earlier this month after little Noa has "a rough 24 hours".

Noa previously had to be admitted to hospital due to a finger infection and before that for breathing issues.

Thankfully, mother and baby are doing okay now!
