New mum goes outside her house to find someone has nicked the wheels off her car

A mother-of-two has said she is devastated after she woke up to find her tyres had been stolen off her car while it was parked outside her house.

Keeley Whitehead said she was "very upset" after discovering three of her car tyres had been taken off her silver Citroen C2 in Morley Close, Ringland, Newport.

Ms Whitehead, 26, is currently on maternity leave and has two young children, and said the car may be damaged due to whoever took the tyres having not put bricks underneath the car.

"This is my only mode of transport right now for my children," she said. "I'm not sure when it happened but it would have been early hours this morning because of the time frame of it being parked outside my home."

Gwent Police said it received a report that three tyres had been stolen from a Citroen C2 parked on Morley Close, Newport sometime between 5pm on 27 and 10.30am on 28 April. (Keeley Whitehead)

Ms Whitehead said her partner had since managed to buy some second hand wheels but that spending money had caused further stress given he is currently off work due to coronavirus.

"It's left him out of pocket - it's money we can't afford," she said.
