New mum goes into labour EIGHT times during single pregnancy

A new mum went into labour eight times during a single pregnancy after being diagnosed with an irritable uterus.

Kayleigh Redmond, 32, suffered "terrifying" full blown contractions for up to seven days at a time.

The mum-of-four first had contractions at 19 weeks and was diagnosed by doctors as having an irritable uterus.

She had lost her mum Dawn to cancer only the week before.

The contractions led to her spending half of her pregnancy in hospital.

Kayleigh, of Luton, Beds, said: "I felt like I was in full-blown labour each time it happened.

"Every time it happened, we had to drop everything and rush to the hospital to check if it was the real thing."

"It was horrible," she continued. "When you start having contractions, it's supposed to be at the end of the pregnancy.

"You're meant to be happy that your baby is coming. But I was terrified.

"My entire pregnancy felt like an awful dream."

She added: "Having contractions felt like running a marathon, I was exhausted.

"I was worried about the effect it was having on my other children as well as the unborn one."

Kayleigh, who lives with partner Adam McGowan, 30, finally gave birth to baby son Oakley on July 1 of this year.
